The Events section of the website lists events and programmes which London Isoc has undertaken and will undertake in the future with the permission of Allaah (SWT).
Please feel free to look at the pictures and details of each project. There are also short videos which can be watched although it should be noted that they are large in size and will require a broadband connection to download.

The Isoc Management Seminar was conceptualised to address the need for generally poor management and organisation within the London Islamic Societies. This inevitably lead to poor results and often a degree of frustration on the part of the Isoc Administration.
The Seminar was designed to encapsulate the main parts of managing an Islamic Society, from Leadership to Teamwork to different ways to give Dawah. There were a number of speakers including Shaykh Haitham Al Haddad, Abdur Raheem Green and others.
The Seminar took place in Dover at the Harbour Court Hotel. an extremely scenic location with the seafront a mere stone throw away from the hotel.
The feedback from the Seminar was extremely encouraging with many of the participants returning to their Islamic Societies and implementing some of the ideas which they had retained.

In January of 2006, London Isoc ran a Khateeb Training course. There were a great number of rationales behind the set-up of this event.
A common problem for the Islamic Societies, is finding suitable khateebs who are able to deliver the weekly khutbahs. There are a fixed number of duaat who are being regularly called for their services as a khateeb. What the Isocs have failed to realise and to capitalise on, is the great wealth of potential within their own society.
There are a number of Muslims in each Islamic Society who will be able to give a good effective khutbah. It is impractical to imagine based on what one knows about a person that he will not be a good khateeb. It is important that everyone who is willing to deliver a khutbah is given that opportunity.
When a person gives a khutbah for the first time, they will inevitably be nervous and will more often than not give a poor khutbah, but with increased opportunity and practice, they will bi-ithnillaah flourish into excellent khateebs. This was the main rationale behind the execution of this course.

If any organisation wishes to be effective, it is vital that they know who their target audience is. The London Isoc Shura is mainly composed of graduates who have a vast amount of experience on the Islamic Society scene.
This knowledge and experience however will naturally not apply to the ever so subtle changing trends within Islamic Societies and because of this, there needs to be direct communication between London Isoc and its clients.
Communication is achieved by two means. Firstly through the London Isoc Shura who are representatives for each university. The other medium is the Presidents Meeting which is held bi-annually, in April and October. This is where London Isoc and its clients engage in dialogue with London Isoc asking the universities what they need as well as London Isoc disseminating information which would be useful to the university societies.
As one can clearly see, this is an important event in the calendar and one which has been enforced upon the universities by written agreement. Our hope is to gain access to the minds of Muslim Students and tailor our programmes and services accordingly.

The London Isoc Development Programme is an annual event, where a small party of university students are taken abroad to gain a first hand appreciation of what is happening with the Muslims around the world. This need not necessarily be something bad, it may be a trip to see what activity programmes that there may be which are being run all over the world.
For the Development Trip in 2006, London Isoc decided to take a group of students to Pakistan to visit the Earthquake affected areas in Muzzafrabad and Balakot. The trip lasted for a total of a week and was held under the auspices of the Pakistani Government and one of the NGOs from Peshawar - Al Furqan Trust.
By the Grace of Allaah and the help of both parties, the participants were able to observe first hand the effects of the devastation left behind by the quake and the processes which have been initiated for rehabilitation.

The London Isoc Camp has been designed to be two days of activities. This is a rather more open camp for a range of students. It is purely meant to be a weekend of fun with an emphasis on FUN!
This year we took 28 students to Phaesel Woods Scout Camp where there were a variety of activities to participate in, such as: Football, Cricket, Archery, Climbing, Rifle Shooting, Abseiling, British Bulldog, Team Building Activities and much more besides.
The London Isoc Camp is an opportunity for brothers from different universities to come together, socialise and have a good time. We hope to see you there next year :-)

Freshers Fayre is the most important event in the calendar year. It is the time when the new university students are initiated onto the university scene.
The Freshers Fayre is a large stall area with many different organisations trying to entice students with their offers and promotions. The Islamic Society is one of the stalls present at the Fayre and they offer packs to new students both Muslim and Non-Muslim to raise awareness of the presence of the Islamic Society.
This is the first point of contact and so the first impression must be very good. With this in mind, London Isoc endeavours to develop student orientated packs which are full of useful material. London Isoc has been producing Freshers Packs for the last five years with the packs getting better each year.

In the first week of February of 2007, London Isoc ran a Khateeb Training course. This course was very similar to the one which took place the year before.
